Oil on Canvas: "French School Boys" by Richard Zolan (American 1931-2001)

Zolan'; good vibrant colors; later carved frame and velvet matte; Richard Judson Zolan (1931-2001) was active/lived in Massachusetts and is known for his Impressionist figure portraits. Zolan graduated from the prestigious Art Institute of Chicago and later studied at the famed Art Students League in New York City. He quickly became the prized pupil of Louis Ritman, an instructor at the academy. Ritman, a personal friend and student of Claude Monet for over 20 years, taught Zolan the fundamental techniques and style of Impressionism. Zolan's artistic talent has established him as one of America's leading impressionist painters.
